  1. Have to port forward a range to get ftp to work from phone

I have a web/ftp server with ftp access on port 9200. So port 9200 is portforwarded to my webserver in router. Any ftp-client can connect just fine. BUT – with android phone – I just an error message when trying to connect. I cannot remember why just now – ( after googling a bit probably) I port forwarded ports 9000:9300 to webserver – and now I connect from phone just fine. Is there a guru on here who can explain WHY?
